Tips and Tricks to make the best of your Auction RSS feeds!
1 - Include your seller name in the <item> section of your feed. This will help your sellers to find where their items are being propagated across the net.
2 - Include your seller names in the <author> section of your feed. This helps users reading know who posted the item and can help readers sort a particuar sellers items by <author>.
3 - Include images of items on auction in the <description> section of your feed. More and more RSS readers and aggregator sites are able to parse images from RSS feeds. If a reader or site can't parse images, the images will simply be ignored.
4 - Create RSS 2.0 feeds. RSS 2.0 is more universally understood by Feed readers and aggregator sites. ATOM feeds aren't always parsed correctly by aggregator sites and can leave important fields out.
5 - Include your "Price","Bid", "Buy It Now", "Ask Seller A Question" and other links of importance inside the <description> field of your feed. It makes it easier for users previously registered at your site to make an immediate purchase!
6 - MOST IMPORTANT: SUBMIT your RSS feed(s)! If you have a RSS feed, please submit it anywhere they have a category for your type of feed. Think of it as a webmaster with a new website.
